Hey! MSM! CTV! CBC! Global! SUNTV! ~ Start Reading a Blog Now And Then, Will Ya?

This morning, "Anonymous" released another video and this one directly 'Attacks' Mr. Toews or at least more directly. I am not sure that it constitutes a personal attack as such. It seems to be dealing with his record as a politician. It talks about real facts. It goes over some of his personal triumphs. the weird part is  that contrary to all the stupid hype by the so-called real media, I see nothing like a "threat" at all! The clumsily synthesized voice is simply revealing real information about the insidious Bills, C-30 and C-10 that started all of this mess. If this is considered a threat then whatever it is e attacking must also be considered rather weak. (see blog posts farther down)

Quick Vic! ~ Call the RCMP!
Hullo? 911?..... “This is Vic Toews Again.....”

"Anonymous is Threatening me with the Facts!"

I mean seriously why would any of the Conservatives be afraid of the truth?

 What Could Possibly Go Wrong?
It is ^NOT like any law-abiding Canadian would falsely accuse anyone of associating with or even sympathising with Child Predators without serious proof. I mean really? What kind of a creep would do anything as low-life as that?
Here is a Great *NEW Facebook Group dedicated to Making Canadian Streets Safer!
Shouldn't we insist that these Cons stop using
notes and talking points All the time?
If they can't think for themselves,
why on Earth do we elect them to think for us?
I'm a Relatively Bad Poet
but at least I know it.
Vic Toews, on the other hand,
is clueless. Lol!

Old Vic Toews

he calls us knaves
but we’re not slaves
nor spring from graves.

So as he raves
and misbehaves
stand tall young braves
and make some waves.

So what he craves
is wielding staves
but power depraves
while reason saves.

Our rights he waives.
no streets he paves.
Insist he shaves ....
I'll bet he Caves!

Canada's Liberals Vow to Legalize Pot ~ Bob Rae Weighs In

"Let's Face Up to it Canada!

The War on Drugs Has Been a Complete Bust"
~ Bob Rae

The Liberal Party of Canada has finally resolved to legalize pot.

Huffington Post Canada ~ Participate in Poll or Read More
Over seventy-seven per cent of delegates at the Liberals' biennial convention in Ottawa in a vote that can only be described as overwhelming, told their party's leadership Sunday morning that they want a future Liberal government to legalize marijuana. That number is fairly consistent with any poll taken anywhere in Canada. Canadians are tired of the war on drugs and many are worried about Bill C-10 now part of the Harper Government's War on Pragmatism.

Their interim leader Bob Rae acknowledged the war on drugs hasn’t worked, but told reporters the party's caucus would have to study the implications of the resolution.

"Frankly, the status quo doesn't work and that's what needs to change,” Rae said. “The Liberal party is saying that the current laws do not work and that we need a new direction.”

Liberal Marijuana

“It’s now up to us to take that resolution and see exactly what it will mean in terms of policy, because there are some practical questions that we have to look at,” Rae added, saying in French that one such issue would be how to control the supply of legalized pot.

Rae insisted he was completely at ease defending the principles of the resolution and that he would work with the membership on the issue in the months and years ahead as the party drafts its next election platform.

“I accept that it is the will of the party that was expressed today and we will continue to work together,” ~ Rae

And in his Closing Remarks, he added:
"Now that we have decided to legalize Marijuana,

We Will Be Even Happier!"

I am lucky enough to have met Bob Rae in person, and had a quiet moment or two with him during the last Election Campaign in Moncton N.B. and I have to admit that at that meeting, the subjects of Crime, Harper's War on Pragmatism, and the War on Drugs all came up. I told him that I was also against Harper's War on Canada. I told him that I wanted to launch a "War on Stupid", and We had a Great laugh!

You see, he has a wonderful sense of humour and besides, he already knew that I had the Government of Harper Land squarely in my sights. I mean seriously, They mess up almost every day and  had already seen the Back of that nice shirt! Lol!

Do You Need a Little More Convincing?

Even this Conservative American Judge has Figured it Out.

Surprise!

A Majority of Canadians Agree!

"The prohibition and a 40-year-long “War on Drugs” have led to pot being more widely accessible, taxpayers considerably poorer, gangs richer and thousands upon thousands of otherwise law-abiding citizens branded “criminal.”
Another 50,000 or so Canadians are busted every year for possession; throw in 20,000 or so traffickers and producers and this so-called war is costing us as much as $400 million annually in law enforcement, court and corrections.

Bearing in mind that a million dollars a year buys roughly 12 new cops, 14 teachers or public health nurses, ask yourself: Couldn’t all that money be better spent? "         ~ READ MORE:

Merry Christmas Mr. Harper ~ Liberal MP Roger Cuzner

HAPPY HOLIDAYS MY FRIENDS!

Text: (reproduced from Liberal Party of Canada website)
"Twas the week before Christmas and all over the Hill
The humbuggish Tories were imposing their will.
The stockings in Muskoka were stuffed to the brim
But life for First Nations remained woefully grim.
And at the North Pole, Santa's problems abound
There was much work to do but no workers around.
How can we do Christmas with no reindeer or elves?
The sleigh is a wreck, there's no toys on the shelves.
Costs have just spiraled, the elves threaten strike
They won't work this Christmas without a pay hike.
Tory payroll taxes have taken their toll
Now unemployed elves populate the North Pole.
Federal money for deer feed and vets
Has just been reprofiled for big jails and jets.
Heartbroken children would spring from their beds
For the first Christmas ever shut down by the feds.
No presents for Christmas, Tories felt the frustration
So they saddled the elves with back-to-work legislation.
No reindeer or sleigh to fly our roof-topper?
No problem; just send in a Cormorant chopper.
The moral I share: Tories lack rhyme or reason
Nonetheless, all the best for a great Christmas season!"

Would Stephen Harper Qualify to Become a CPC Member?

Does
If you don't ask, I won't tell.
A good friend of mine over at C.R.U.S.H. ~ Canadians Rallying to Unseat Stephen Harper, asked a question today. And yes, it is the same question that any Canadian, ^NOT entirely in the dark about 'dear leader' asks every other day:
"What needs to happen to rid this country of Stephen Joseph Harper"?

So, we batted around the same tired old ideas, all of which could potentially work and in fact should work, but none of which succeed for various reasons.

Those tactics have included, among other things; defeating him in a General Election, having him arrested or rendered (a word that many governments use when someone is kidnapped by them. Of course if we did it it would be called kidnapping) and have him sent to The Hague in Switzerland, along with his old friends George W. Bush and Dick Cheney to face justice at the International Criminal Court. We considered also, getting the 'owned' and generally myopic, non-testicular, (having to do with the lacking of balls) and willingly sycophantic (sadly having to do with the Licking of balls) Canadian Mainstream Media to co-operate, and the waking of Canadians to political realities and the now 1200 reasons (here are 100 of them that were compiled back when it would have been easier) that he is ^NOT a leader and how how and why he simply can ^NOT be trusted.

But today was somehow different. Something was suggested that I had not heard before, a tactic so unthinkable, so repulsive as to have gone without consideration by anyone at C.R.U.S.H. for the last two years. It was a tactic that would require brashness and bravery, a very strong stomach and the willingness to work with some very unsavoury characters. It was suggested that we consider joining the Conservative Party of Canada en mass and bring it down from within. It was suggested that we become as it were, a Trojan Horse or as a more modern mind would put it, infiltrate the borg. Well, that was certainly ^NOT on my agenda, but since I have not yet given up and will never succumb to the notion that resistance is futile I agreed to consider it.

So, I decided to see just who qualified to join the Borg. I quickly found this information:

Founding Principles eh? Well, I doubted that I could possibly agree with them, I am no Conservative, but it might be worth a look. What harm could it do,  just to have a look?
And as I read them it occured to me that many of them do not seem to be principles that I would ever have attributed to Stephen Harper. Lets just pick a few that help to add the light of day to those doubts.

1.) "A balance between fiscal accountability, progressive social policy and individual rights and responsibilities" ~ Well, that is the first one on their list, and although I agree with it, does Harper?

Are they fiscally accountable?

No. They were forced to reveal the numbers last Fall and even then they faked most of them, and ended up being charged with contempt because of it. They still have not released any real numbers since they took office. They are in aconstant fight with the Parliamentary Budget Officer over exactly that.

Are they in favour of progressive social policy?

No. they want to jail as many Canadians as the existing prisons will hold, and then build more prisons. Every expert in Canada says that this will lead to higher residivism rates and that it will all contribute to poverty and despair.

Are they defenders of our Indivdual rights?

No. Individual rights have begun to deteriorate under harper. Even as a minority prime minister, he started limiting personal rights. As I write this he continues to allow Canadians to be arrested and abused simply for assembling in peaceful protest and has been much less tolerant of dissent than any other government in our history. His imprudent use of Toronto as a backdrop to the 2010 G20 was an exercise in state power and control. 1130 persons were hauled off to spend an average of 24 hours in cages that just happened to be there for the purpose. The Occupy Movement has only highlighted his contempt for th eindividual rights of Canadians. His party is the only one to show no signs of even admuitting that their is a difference between Billionaires and the homeless.

Individual responsibilities?
Hell yeah, that part he agrees with. Never in our history has so much time, money and effort been levied against us to teach us about our personal and individual responsibilities. There is very likely a second recession on it's way and it is going to be our responsibility to ride it out while we suffer cuts and fewer services. The fact that it is not our doing does not stop it from being our responsibility.

That is just the first bullet point above and already it is apparent that Stephen Joseph is not qualified to be even a member of the party, let alone it's leader.

The list of requisite conservative beliefs goes on to include a belief in our Parliamentary institutions, a respect for the rule of Law, a belief in the Environment, a belief in the equality of all Canadians, a belief that good government is responsive and attentive to the needs of it's citizens.......

The list is long and none of it confirms that Stephen Harper is qualified to be a member of that party in any real sense. I could go on,  and over the next few days, I will probbably flesh this thought process out a bit, but my point is already made. I can add lnks to the web that demonstrate all of these concerns, and I may do that, but It may be time that those who wrote this charter and founding principles actually took them to heart, and considered how very far off the mark that this little man has taken them.

So, No, I was wrong above and could easily join a party that stood for all of these great principles, but if anyone in the know thinks that it is possible for a party to do so with this fopp at the helm, they are either sadly mistaken or taking a page out of the Neo-con book and lying!

That, I believe is exactly what Stephen Harper has been doing for the past 15 years. It should be obvious that he can ^NOT be trusted. I mean seriously, if he really cared in the least about the values listed above, would he put up with the likes of  Tony, 'hands in the till' Clement?

Please feel free to comment below. I will have little trouble answering any of your questions. The proof is everywhere if you open those baby blues.

A Fly-by in the Ointment ~ A Royal Pain in The Assembly

"When I get through with Canada,
you won't recognize it"
~ Stephen Harper ~ April 27, 2006

Updated Content Dec 10, 2011:
"Canada Libya Mission Party Rings Up $850,000 In Parliament Hill Celebration" ~Huffington Post Canada"
Congratulations dear leader: Your sadistic and machiavellian wish has finally come true. I no longer recognize this country. I was born a proud Canadian. I am now, against my will, a not-so-proud Harper Lander.
But enough of our 'dear leader'. If you, 'dear readers'  have read any of this blog in the past, you will already know that I have been warning all who would listen that "Harper's Hidden Agenda", not only exists, but that it was and is right on schedule. It sure as hell is ^NOT hidden now. It stands out in bold relief, like lego hair, or the smirk of a dullard who finds himself finally in charge of the remote control.

Harper Land, the newest (at only 207 days of age) of almost 200 countries on the planet, is already a growingly depressing and repressive place to live, and every day I find it harder to breath, And every day I find it harder to find that national pride that our 'dear leader' so often aims to instill in us.

The Ideologically driven and perfectly contrived and newfound importance of militarism and the way in which he is determined to desensitise us and enure us to absurdity, is in itself absurd. But it seems to be working. For several weeks now, needless rumblings of war with Syria have been growing. They are also chomping at the bit to get on with helping the Americans make a case for war against Iran. And mindblowingly, it is under the guise of their enemy attempting to build nuclear weapons. Yes folks, weapons of mass destruction. These Neo-con types will  try anything twice.

Harper Land, With rising unemployment, exploding welfare rolls, recently exposed ministerial corruption, repressive crime bills, loss of rights, suppression of dissent, attacks on unions, frivilous court cases, a tightening grip on all government institutions, the leader's obsessive and insatiable need to solidify all of Harper Land's political power into the hands of the Propaganda and Misinformation Office or PMO, and the Harper government's guilty plea (and pathetically small fine) in a scheme that helped them steal the 2006 Federal election. The list is inarguably depressing and getting more so every day!

I love ..... thinking about that time
when I almost touched the puck
Today, on the 207th day in the history of Harper Land, our dear leader, after making a very hawkish speech in the Senate about "walking the walk", stood on the steps of the House of Commons and arrogently spent Half a million dollars (Terry Milewski CBC) for an American style military fly-by to celebrate the daring and amazing feat of bombing  a foreign government into submission without killing any Canadians. He never mentioned, not even once, Libyan civilians nor seemed to 'get it' that many Canadians could be fed and housed for half a million dollars. And once again the often complimentary and always timid main stream media drones on about the glory that is Harper Land.

And their one complaint about this expensive (again, at least $500,000.oo) day of pomp and ceremony so far has been the MSM's rather milktoast lament that there has been no such recognition of the Afghanistan war? Is it ^NOT obvious that there should ^NOT have been any
such event even for this one?

Seriously?  The main stream media is worried that the Afghan veterans did not get a real pony? Or that the new kid got the icecream? At least Craig Oliver of CTV asked, or rather, suggested, that "some" (he didn't say who, exactly) were asking:

"Just what are we celebrating here? The mission in Libya, or the (Harper) government"?

Go ahead, turn up the sound!
Feel the Raw Power!
Sure, it is loud, but they are not about to drop a bomb here.
NOT that it would hurt anyone if they did.
Canadian bombs only hit real targets, they never hurt civillians.
We have NATO's word on that!

"Conservatives cashing in on the Quick and 'casualty free' mission in Libya" ~ Roger Smith here ~ CTV  That statement went absolutely unchallenged. But I challenge it now.

And, over at CBCNN, no one in the studio so much as blinked when John Ivison, a much too common guest on CBC's "Power and Politics" said of the Libyan campaign, simply that: "Nobody died". He stumbled on like he always does, in near complete agreement of all things Harper.

We all knew that he meant: No 'Canadian' died. But I have a confession to make. I blinked. That was not what he said. In spite of the pathetic fact that it has become acceptable in Harper Land to count only Canadian and NATO casualties. "No one died" is what he said and I blinked.

Sadly, we are not expected to object to this inhumanity, and might even be sanctioned for wondering why it has become normal to act in such a callous, insensitive and frankly, disturbing manner.

Are we to believe that those we kill with bombs are not human, do not amount to anything, are somehow not worthy of counting? Well, actually if we are to believe NATO, there really were no Libyan casualties. In other words, Nobody died. We are to believe that even though Canadians alone, dropped some 700 high tech missiles and bombs that no one not actually targeted, died.

The 'reported' number of bombs dropped in the (official) name of protecting citizens in Libya by Canadians is itself, unlike those bombs, still dropping. According to recent reports and again today by Roger Smith of CTV, the number has now been pegged at 700, with a total of about 1000 sortees and not the 1450 missions and 1500 drops that was reported earlier.

Harper's now 'arch enemy', the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, got  a little closer to the truth, but not much. Terry Milewski, at least said: No 'Canadian' casualities.  He at least seems to get that some of us watch these things closely.

If you think that I am exaggerating NATO's statements that none of the thousands of bombs and missiles killed anyone not targetted, I admit that I have been doing just that. Here is a video which claims the they have stepped up to the plate and admitted that all of those bombs actually killed nine civilians. I kid you not. Nine!

Of course that was reported by Russian Television:

                                                               Russian online TV (RT)

So there ya have it. The Russians are saying that NATO is admitting to only NINE civilian deaths, but surely this is only the Russians. Harper has warned us about the Russians. Surely I was able to find evidence that they have been very open about these killings and that NATO is being more open than these Russsians (Who want our north, lol) are letting on.

Surely NATO is more open then that.

So, come on, proud Harper Landers, remember the Fifties. Hold your heads high. Celebrate war, and bask in displays of military might. Hang the Queen's portrait in your classrooms, embasies, legislatures, post offices, offices, government buildings, poutine shops, chip trucks, out houses, and barns.
Use the word 'Royal' to describe absolutely anything and every thing that can possibly be called royal.

Learn the language of a military power. Learn the tricks of a happy Harper Lander so you won't stand out in a crowd. Learn to cheerfully deny that we are doing harm in the world.  Learn to deny that the environment is not safe here, and deny that we are losing our rights. Deny that we are no longer awake, deny that we are being taken for a ride.

Remember that a silent Harper Lander is a happy Harper Lander and that a Happy Harper Lander will wait forever for a good hockey book, and then pretend to like it even if they secretly know it is just another lie.

Speak well of our 'dear leader' for he has your best interests in his benevolent big giant head, he holds the future of your children in his very athletic hands, the very value of your existance in his strong arms and just like that kind old gentleman , Santa Claus, he knows where you live. Don't let that scare you. How else could he bring all that joy?

Bottom Line: The MSM stupidly says this is about honouring the Libyan campaign and ^NOT honouring the Afghan War heroes. Again, that is spinning bull shit. This story is about Stephen Joseph Harper strutting pompously onto the front steps of OUR House of Commons and absolutely wasting half a million dollars of OUR money so that OUR airforce could honour him.

Stephen Harper is a Royal Pain in the Assembly.

Pat Martin Tweets it as He Sees It! ~ And No Effing Apology Is Needed

WARNING!
This post contains some "Industrial Language."

Just as the Conservative Party has done on eight other occasions including their ridiculous Omnibus Crime Bill, since they became a 'Split-Vote Majority', they have stated recently that they would also seek Closure on the Budget. No more discussion,  just push it through as quietly as possible. These guys like their stealth. There is no doubt that this Closure will happen, and that all debate will stop, in spite of the huge flaws in everything this government authors,  the time for sober thought is over. Or so said the government.

"The best laid plans of mice and men
ofttimes go astray"
It all seemed to be going along so well, just as the prime minister had hoped. But any thoughts that the PMO had that the issue of these repeated and so obviously undemocratic forced closures would escape the somewhat myopic Canadian main-stream-media were suddenly dashed on the evening of November 16th 2011. That was when Pat Martin decided to 'tweet' to the world, or at least to his relatively few followers on Twitter,  (at that point he had only about a thousand) and in his usual raw and passionate style, he said exactly what was on his mind.

Upon a quick reading of that tweet it is not so very hard to sense that he was 'somewhat frustrated' with the way that our long and proud democracy is relentlessly being attacked in the frightening new and still unfolding 'Harper Land.'

When asked repeatedly if he intended to apologise he simply said "No."

He stated very succinctly that he had no intention of retracting any of it. Apparently, unlike the prime minister, Pat Martin knows that it is wrong to make apologies that would not be heartfelt expressions of contrition. Good for You, Mr. Martin, good for You!

And what has become of all this in the first 24 hours?

8:00 pm Thursday
Well, for starters, Pat's Facebook profile has been getting a lot of friend requests, his Facebook page has been collecting a lot of 'likes', both have been getting a lot of traffic as has his Twitter account. It is gaining followers by the hundreds. I took a screen shot at 8 pm. and another a few moments ago, which is only about 6 hours apart. As you can, see the number of his followers has grown by over 1400 in that short time.

2:00 am Friday
And of course, it was a trending topic on Twitter in Canada, if only for about 18 hours or so. That may make Canadians seem somewhat fickle, but nothing changes quite as fast as Twitter's trending topics.

To see real-time stats on Pat Martin's Twitter feed, to see what the fuss is about, or to Follow him Click HERE

The (twitter) exchange was monitored by Martin's (at time of publishing) 1,600 followers and caused a stir throughout the Twitterverse. Martin told the Free Press (Winnipeg) this morning he was surprised by the uproar and admitted he'd had "hundreds" of calls since the tweet last night. "I can't believe that," he said.

He also said that most of the comments he is getting from his own caucus colleagues are supportive because they too are so frustrated by the repeated closure of debate by this government.

It (closure ~ttsm) has happened numerous times this fall including on the omnibus crime bill and the bill to eliminate the monopoly of the Canadian Wheat Board. (And I will add my compliments here to Pat for being the Opposition's most effective speaker on that subject. ~ ttsm)

"It (the original tweet) happened while I was voting. I was looking across at them and thinking they don't even know the damage that they've done," he said of the Conservative MPs. "It took the Liberals 13 years to get this arrogant." (it has taken the Harper Government only 6 months~ ttsm)
Interim NDP Leader, Nycole Turmel is not asking Martin to apologize though she doesn’t agree with his words. "His language was not appropriate and could have been offensive to some. That said, the Conservatives' actions are not appropriate in a democracy and offensive to all Canadians."
Martin is known to be one of the most colourful MPs in the House of Commons and has come under fire numerous times for his comments. "
He also said that it was "industrial language" and that having come from a background of  construction work, he knew that it was the way many Canadians talk. He also pointed out that the word (fuck) was in fact in the dictionary, which of course it is, and that he felt no apology of any kind was necessary.
Go Pat Go!
I agree Pat, there is no need to apologize, and certainly not to me. I cannot imagine having to work so near the prime minister, or any of his raucous caucus, on a daily basis and not wanting to lash out at the mind-numbing idiocy and ideology that has overtaken this once rather civilized country. The time for passively taking Mr. Harper at face value has long since passed. It is time to stand up to this bully once and for all. It is time to expose his every shortcoming. It is time to see him as he really is, and if one has to be that rude to get the attention of  the press, then so be it. I say: Bring it on.
Personally, I just wish that the Corporate owned Media would finally clue in to the fact that all is ^NOT well in Harper Land. They need to understand that the cumulative effect of such a dismal leader's presence among us ( or rather, above us) is more important than their constantly myopic 24 hour news cycle. They really do not seem to 'get' that history is a continuum, that one thing builds on another and that there is a responsibility on their part to see each day in the context of  those days, weeks and years that came before it.

Hell, I am still fuming over the "Income trust scandal", The "In and Out Scheme" and all those other 1200 or more issues that have arisen since Mr. Stephen Joseph Harper has come onto the Canadian political scene.

The real story in Canada  remains the Harper Government's very well documented contempt and ignorance of our parliamentary process. That is the story that needs to be told.

That may or may not happen. But it certainly begs the same old question:

What does it take to wake up a Country when their own so-called main stream media sleeps so soundly, as their own Democracy is under such a threat?

It reminds me of some sedentary and yet,
    very well-paid Rip Van Winkle.

Harper's Goons call this video report, "Misinformation" in Question Period

CBC's Terry Milewski, lands a huge blow to the Harper government's Bill C-10, and goes all the way to Texas to have a look at what can go wrong with Minimum Mandatory Sentencing and a jurisdiction Hell bent on making Punishment the important factor in dealing with crime. Texas should know. At one point, one in twenty Texans was behind bars. That has been changing.

This is a thoughtful and intelligent report on the woes of "stupid on crime" legislation and yet John Baird says it is nothing but misinformation. Have a look and let me know if it is Terry Milewski or our very own Harper Government that is spreading mis-information.

Hundreds of other experts have tried to warn them, but so far according to the Conservative Party of Canada, that represents hundreds of instances of mis-information. I will give them this: I have no doubt that they understand the concept of mis-information better than most!

At least he did not do what he and the other Cons have done so often in the past and pretend that they were in the position of  rejecting the very premise of the question. Although even that lie would be more accurate than to call this very insightful report Misinformation. I fear that our government is ^NOT here for us!
