If it were only this easy? If you could just show a funny graphic of your pick for public enemy number one on here and everyone would say: "Oh! Now that I think about it, he is mad with a capital "M". Why didn't I see it before? It all seems obvious now. How can I help stop this Madness". How can I help "Unseat the Cheat"?

But, neither is it so very hard!  Progress is being made toward this goal of getting Canadians to wake up to the fact that their Canada is being extracted by the worst Prime Minister ever. He is stealing Democracy right out from under us. The evidence is there for those who bother to look! It as simple as learning to do research.

Almost two years into this madness, "The Harper Government" (#THG on Twitter) is under siege from all sides. Why?  ~ Because people are educating themselves, and the more you know about Harper "Clearly" the madder you become. And they have started to ask questions. Not that they will get straight answers from King Steve. They must seek the answers 'elsewhere'. And social media is capable of being that "elsewhere".

A Liberal Motion was debated behind closed doors at the public accounts committee, but did not survive the THG-dominated vote.

Closed door?  The motion would have ordered the Finance Department to give MPs copies of long-term financial analysis prepared between 2010 and the present........? Gawd that's over two years of vital financial information withheld from parliamentarians. That's over two year of bad legislation, and Omnibus Bills ~ (metaphorically) ~ large vats of dirty bathwater with baby still in it.

That's well over 2 years of voting on hidden agendas in the form of Omnibus Budgets bills of playing games of "picking a pig in a poke".  Of course Harper quashed it. He had no choice. The numbers are much worse than reported. The point of the Liberal motion was to make counter-transparency a thing of the past. That wouldn't do. Not in Harper Land.

Wasn't Transparency and Accountability the basis of the Harper government's first ever, election campaign? Now, Harper doesn't even pretend to care about that aspect of good governance, No, not these days. They have dropped all pretence of Governmental Transparency. 

Accountability is a about to take a hit too!

Kevin Page is about to get unceremoniously axed. His original mandate was to report directly to Parliament and be given real numbers to get at the truth of the matter. He did his job to well to suit Harper and his infamous Action Plan. And Now Flaherty is openly and absurdly attacking him.

Economic Action Plan, my ass. Those 100's of millions of dollars in advertising that we paid for, every year. How many years now? (That's a research project for you)  The real Plan was to subliminally reprogram everyone by weight of endless and mind numbing repetition into believing that there really is a plan. And you can't even prove the obvious truth if they hold back the numbers. ~  Nice!

The advertising Is the plan. Numbing the population and at the same time becoming the Corporate Media's biggest advertisers. Nice! 

The right is always saying "common sense".  As if they could count on common sense to see us through the twentieth century.  Stop playing games Mr. Prime Minister and show us the money.

Food for thought: Carney is gone but at least we still will have Carnage! Flaherty will get us nowhere! And I'll be back. 

Harper Land ~ First Majority Budget ~ Harper Fires Thousands

Budget Day 2012 was a very strange but sadly ordinary day in Harper Land. Stay Tuned, it will take a while to digest it. And, since they aren't very thorough, and ignore evidence, it is bound to have a lot of unintended CONsequences.  For one thing, we are going to have to listen to the phrase 'Nickel Back' even more often. He always throws his friends a bone.

Now that Non Cons can read it, We will see just exactly who, and how many Canadians that it does leave penniless. The numbers might surprise you.

What is Contempt? Well, that nice Mr. Harper never even stopped in the Foyer to talk to any of us lowly citizens after the budget. He doesn't care enough about any of us to deign to ever seem like he is one of us, so I have no vested interest in his Birthday.
I just don't want him around to "MC" the Big gig on July the First! That is every Canadian's Birthday!

Jim Flaherty, As I type this: (loudly at a podium in the Foyer of the House of Commons) to Peter Mansbridge: "No one has said to me that they want an election" I guess Jim never opens his mail or his inbox. He is spreading the fear very thickly, Insecurity, Fragile, ... He is saying protect, certainty and stability....." I've Heard all of that, before.

If this screen shot below is an indication of the content, it is more or less a Sheep fest. It is also a very popular right wing Blog. It is normally a chance for spewing their drivel unchallenged. Apparently that is not the case tonight! I have had enough of them and their small 'L' leader!

It is important to brave those cold waters once in a while and take the C.R.A.P. that will inevitably be flung in order to see just exactly how they go about doing what it is that they do best. And What is that?

Apparently it is Blindly following the rantings of a leader who would like to be the leader of the only political party left standing in Canadian Politics! It is strange and eerily Stalinesque but it is certainly not the first time there has been evidence of such a cult among his followers. I mean just try and engage any of them in a discussion that is about the facts or the figures involved in any given topic.

"Small Dead Animals" is also a place where one can quote; Ezra Levant, Karl Rove, Tom Flanagan, Ann Coulter, Charles McVety, Glenn Beck, Kory Teneycke, Sarah Palin, Bill O'Reilly, George Dubya Bush, Ronald Reagan, and a host of other equally delusional Mental Midgets with impunity and apparently without feeling an overwhelming need to Spit, as I feel a sudden urge to do now! .  .  .  .  .  Pttuuie!

Stephen Harper has finally decided that it is time to push our buttons. He says he does not want an election. He is Lying! He says he believes in Democracy. He is Lying! He says he believes in Parliament. He is Lying!

He does not think that the Government of Canada has any moral obligation to set aside a measly $1.98 per vote for the party receiving that vote. Remember the last time this happened? It was after the breaking of the Fixed election law (in Sept. of 2008) that he had used to get himself elected in 2006. Actually there was also the matter of the short lived Coalition with the NDP not that you will find that on Small Dead Animals.

At any rate the threat of dropping the subsidies and forever tilting the playing field in favor of Harper and his silent big business partners in late 2008 ultimately lead to the hasty formation of a proposed coalition between the Liberals under Stephane Dion and the NDP led by Jack Layton, which still needed the co-operation of Gilles Duceppe and the Bloc Quebecois. If they had not tipped their hand (quite inexplicably in my opinion) they would have defeated The Government in a scheduled vote of Non-Confidence and gone on to implement that Coalition. I have no idea why they showed their hand. I am quite sure they would do it differently if they had it to do over again!

And this time around they will (if he can be believed) get no argument from the NEW Governor General who very recently had this to say: "Nothing Wrong with Coalition Governments ~ Governor General"

So, I give you a peek into the world of the "tiny lifeless creatures" who support this Vacuous Dolt!

A Tale of Two Tales: Jim Flaherty Rewarded by Media!

Tale One: Jim Flaherty has just been named Business news-maker of the year by ...... Canadians in General happy to have his leadership? Well not exactly, But that did not stop the MSM from picking up this ready made story and distributing it verbatim. The Main Stream Media has a lot to learn and a lot to answer for. The early story was thoroughly short on reason. It simply quoted those who for one reason or another did not see anything wrong with Flaherty's dismal stewardship of our economy.

"OTTAWA - As the sovereign debt crisis rocked Europe and the U.S. economy spun its wheels with a jobless recovery, Finance Minister Jim Flaherty remained the steady hand at the tiller in 2010 on his way to being voted The Canadian Press business news-maker of the year.
 They started out with verbatim accounts from a news service, but by now they are adding info and more background on it. Of course many, many Canadians read these things as soon as they come out, and at that point they are virtually identical and and simply a copy of the glowing PMO press release. Most of them never check back to see how public opinion and some time to digest it sways the discourse over the course of a day or two. Here is some of the information that was added later in the news cycle, and keep in mind that the readership decline quite rapidly after a story breaks, and that most who have read it will not re-read it!

With the loonie near parity with the U.S. dollar and signs of the economy recovery taking hold, Flaherty could boast of a record better than most of his peers around the world in 2010.


"I think what we saw not only in Canada, but around the globe was a very aggressive policy response," said Paul Ferley, assistant chief economist at the Royal Bank.



"And certainly the infrastructure program, as well as various tax cuts in hindsight, look like they have been very successful in terms of helping to sustain the recovery."


But despite his success in helping keep the Canadian economy on track, the coming year brings even more challenges for the finance minister as the vast majority of the stimulus spending comes to an end and he faces the task of balancing the budget to meet his target of 2015-16.


"I think the government did well in terms of identifying just how deep the economic hit was and opted to respond in kind," Ferley said.


"Now the fallout from that are a fairly large debt and deficit, numbers not as bad as what we are looking at south of the border or in Europe, but still, imbalances that at some point will need to be addressed."


Flaherty has said there will be no major new spending in his 2011 plan, but also there will be no major new cuts either.


"In 2010, it became clear that Canada had emerged from the deepest worldwide economic crisis since the 1930s in relatively good shape," Flaherty said.


"But we are mindful that the recovery is fragile and there are still too many people out of work. So we are sticking to our plan. "

Tale Two:  There were 108 votes by (  ? ? ? ? ). Flaherty got 21 of them and the runner up, Brad Wall who stood up to The Harper Government and in particular Flaherty himself on the Hostile take-over of Saskatchewan Potash, came in a very close second with 19 votes. So, it was not a runaway landslide decision, based on Flaherty's legendary record on the economy after-all? No it was a tight vote and there was obviously no clear winner as Flaherty only got only 19.4% of the vote. I am still looking for a good explanation of who exactly voted, and what the criteria were. 

OK, it was 108 print and online business news editors and broadcast news directors. Gee that seems like an impartial group eh? Of course I am still looking for details on who actually voted.

In even later versions some reservations to the choice are starting to be expressed. The huge deficit that was such a surprise to our boy Jim, the discrepancies between all of his predictions and the actual numbers, and his persistence in taking of all the credit for the work of Paul Martin. The constant criticism of the Office of Kevin page who has always seemed to doubt Flaherty's skills as a Finance Minister. The rampant spending on vote buying projects and the outright lies that they are telling as to the real impact on Canada. No mention of any of this in the early versions however.

Not that I am suggesting that any of us stop to think about any of this, and certainly not that the MSM will care if you simply put your head in neutral and play along with this silly little sham that they would like us to call real Journalism.

I am hoping that some real criticism will emerge in the Main Stream Media, before the 48 hour news cycle ends tomorrow. It is unlikely, but at least the real media, the people's media (the social media) is already all over this story asking real questions and secretly laughing at the lack of vision, the lack of long term memory and the lack of testicularity displayed by the Finance Minister and by the Canadian Press.

Finance Minister Jim Flaherty has taken Conservative fear tactics to a whole new level with his very political and ridiculously odd and partisan speech in Ottawa on Tuesday, September 21st 2010 say I and the Leader of the Official Opposition, Michael Ignatieff.

Speaking to the Canadian Club in Ottawa (which is not usually a particularly partisan crowd) Jim Flaherty, using his best pirate metaphors, lashed out at the prospect of an opposition “Ignatieff Coalition” government and said that the Conservative government wasn’t suddenly going to become “warm and fuzzy.” (Actually, I can't see them as warm, but they have always been a bit fuzzy!)

The Finance Minister also said that only Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government could provide the stability that Canadians need. (? ? ? ~ Spoken like a drunken but very ambitious First-Mate)

Ignatieff, talking to reporters the next morning, portrayed Flaherty’s speech as bizarre, but in keeping with the Conservatives’ style of leadership.

“I don’t know what they put in his coffee,” Ignatieff said. “This is the way these folks govern. They first try to make Canadians afraid of the census … They tried to make us afraid of Russian planes up in the Arctic. And now, amazingly, they’re trying to make Canadians afraid of an election". "They’re trying to make Canadians afraid of Democracy.”

Michael Ignatieff certainly was not the only one puzzled by the odd tone of Jim Flaherty’s speech – pundits, critics and commentators are wondering in the wake of the speech why the Finance Minister chose to make his speech so rhetorically political, and whether it was a precursor of an election that the Conservatives may want to have. Try to keep in mind the Conservative's constant "Unnecessary Election" rant of the last two years?

He appeared to be comparing the opposition to Pirates – a silly extended metaphor in his speech that threatens to become powerful fodder for satirists and government critics (I guess that explains this blog, eh?) in the coming days, weeks and months.


Progressive and 'not so progressive' writers from all across the country have framed the speech as either; "a declaration of war" or "fear-mongering," while columnists and reporters covering the actual event referred to the speech as a "diatribe" and many have noted the “stony silence” of the lunch-time crowd.

Deputy Liberal leader Ralph Goodale, a former Minister of Finance himself, lambasted the Flaherty speech as a “sad spectacle.”

“It was pathetic to see a Minister of Finance reduced to such a degrading spectacle,” Goodale told reporters Wednesday.

Flaherty said, for instance: “The coalition led by Mr. Ignatieff has its own agenda ~ power, power, power…. and that any coalition that would give the NDP access to taxpayers’ wallets should strike fear in regular Canadians.” (Don't that just "Shiver yer timbers?")

On the Macleans’ magazine blog page Wednesday (Sept 22nd), former Liberal government speechwriter Scott Feschuk did an annotated version of the Flaherty speech, in which he joked that Conservatives were trying to tell Canadians that the Liberals, New Democrats and Bloc Quebecois would “give us scurvy and ravish our women folk.” (AAAAARRRRR!)

Flaherty’s exact words were: “In the global recession, the ship of state has had a difficult voyage. But we can see the harbour lights. And that’s just when a would-be captain and his ragtag crew are trying to storm the bridge. If they seize the wheel, ladies and gentlemen, they’ll have us on the rocks. And that’s not how this voyage should end.”

Goodale said that he is convinced that the hyper-partisan speech was written by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and that it will surely damage Flaherty's already shakey reputation in economic circles.

“That text was not written by any serious person within the department of Finance,” Goodale quipped, suggesting that when Flaherty speaks in the future on 'serious' economic matters, observers may assume he's delivering more oddly partisan spin. Flaherty has “degraded the currency” ~ Goodale

Bob Rae, Liberal MP for Toronto Centre  agreed that it's a mistake for a senior minister to be so partisan.

“This isn't the kind of speech a Minister of Finance should be giving,” Rae said.

Rae also added that "no one at caucus was quaking in their boots" as a result of Flaherty's speech.

Every time the Conservative ~ Reform ~ Alliance Party (as they were (unbelievably) officially named for just over 24 hours) uses the term 'Coalition', they deserve to be reminded in no uncertain terms that they are a coalition in the formal sense of the word.

It should be obvious that Any use of the term 'coalition' to smear others is just CRAP!

Really MSM, what are you waiting for? I mean seriously, if ever there was a time when a mutany was justified, this is surely it!

If all opposition to this dismal government is piracy, it just may be time to board this leaky ship of fools, jugglers and clowns with sabres drawn and send them all to the bottom of the political sea.
